Un juego original: Brutal Legend de Tim Schafer
Brutal Legend estará disponible desde el 13 de octubre 2009. Es un video juego de Tim Shafer (antiguo empleado de LucasArts), creador de clásicos como Monkey Island. El juego iba a ser distribuido en un principio Vivendi, pero fue rechazado el proyecto tras su fusión con Activision. Finalmente Brutal Legend será lanzado por Electronic Arts.
El juego se basa en un sistema no lineal (presenta al jugador desafíos que pueden ser completados en un número de secuencias diferentes). El protagonista será Eddie Riggs (personaje intérpretado con la voz de Jack Black), un roadie (técnico que viaja con un grupo musical en sus giras y que se encarga de todos los aspectos de sus conciertos) que comienza su aventura en la antesala de un concierto de heavy metal.
En la preparación del concierto, mientras afinaba una guitarra, Eddie se hiere y su sangre cae sobre la hebilla de su cinturón, invocando un misterioso poder de éste y teletransportandolo a la tierra legendaria del Rock’n’Roll.
Así repentinamente aparecerá en el templo del Ormagöden, y desde ahí, tendrá que defenderse en ese nuevo mundo con la guitarra Gibson Flying V que estaba afinando y una enorme hacha que recoge (The Separater). Durante el juego encontraremos personajes aliados que llevan la jugabilidad a un modo de movimientos cooperativos que pueden realizar junto a Eddie.
Con tantas referencias al mundo Heavy Metal se pensó que la modalidad del juego involucraría el uso del control de la guitarra (usadas en Guitar Hero o Rock Band), sin embargo el mismo Tim Schafer ha dicho que no hay planes hasta los momentos para la compatibilidad con estos controles tipo guitarra.
Brutal Legend puede adquirse para Playstation 3 y Xbox 360. De verdad que promete ser un juego muy divertido, esperemos que la jugabilidad sea acertada. Si estaban esperando un juego novedoso, con un toque de humor “lucasarts”, donde el héroe es intérpretado por Jack Black y con la participación de Ozzy Osbourne… ¡No lo pelen!
